Larry Fisher (born 21 August 1949) is a Canadian who was convicted in 1999 of a murder he committed 30 years earlier.
On 31 January 1969, Gail Miller was raped and murdered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. David Milgaard was first wrongfully convicted of the crime and served 23 years in prison before being released in 1992, and exonerated by DNA evidence in 1997.
Fisher was arrested, 25 July 1997 in Calgary. He was convicted 22 November 1999, and sentenced on 4 January 2000. He was given a life sentence, however, due to applicable laws at the time of the crime, he will be eligible to apply for parole in 10 years, rather than the current 25, after the sentence. On 23 September 2003, the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan unanimously denied Fisher's appeal of his conviction. Fisher had also served 23 years for numerous rapes in the cities of Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
